Chili Orange Garlic Air Fried Chicken Wings

Who doesn’t like chicken wings? I love them but eating them often fried is just not something I like to do. When I first discovered air frying I fell in love. It changed everything! I use the air fryer at least once a day. It’s super easy, convenient and fast. I absolutely love skipping the grease. The great thing about air frying is you’re rendering a lot of fat off of the meat u cook, no grease needed or encouraged and it’s literally taste like perfectly fried food. I don’t know much more a person can ask for. Hopefully you enjoy them as much as I do!

Ingredients

  • 3lb chicken wings, segmented
  • 1/4 c sambas chili garlic sauce
  • 5 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 oranges, zested and juiced
  • 1 Tb cilantro, chopped
  • 2 Tb butter

Directions

  • Segment wings however you’d like ( leaving the top is up to you)
  • Air fry at 400 for 35 minutes per batch.
  • Toss wings in air fryer every 10 minutes. Till crispy
  • To make sauce add butter and garlic sauté for 1 minute. Add in orange zest, juice . And sambal chili sauce. Simmer for 5 minutes on low .
  • Toss hot wings in warm sauce and cilantro.

  1. Ahhhh. I didn’t not connect “air fryer” to convection . . . but duh! I have a convection oven I never use! I have a friend who recently got an air fryer and she makes ALL types of food in it. Thank you for clarifying and pointing out the somewhat obvious!

  2. It basically is just a convection oven but smaller for counter use. It’s considered air fryer because it pushes the air around food to cook and crisp evenly . It doesn’t necessarily get hotter or work faster than a real oven but most oven are conduction ovens that only cook from the top and bottom not around.
But I love the air fryer if you don’t like chicken wings you can put literally anything in it. It makes the best veggies.

  3. Me. I do not like chicken wings. Ewwww. There is no way to disguise the fact that you are eating the wing of a bird. No. Can’t do it. But . . . most people love ’em. Ewwwww. I didn’t even think about them being fried. I always think of them being cooked in the oven. I have a couple of friends that have air fryers and they love them. What makes an air fryer and air fryer? Is the air really hot? Why is it an “air fryer” and not an oven?
