Caffeine Bowl + Coffee Brewed Mushroom

This super earthy bowl is for fellow coffee lovers who want depth, warmth, and real staying power in a bowl. Coffee-brewed mushrooms bring an unexpected savory edge that plays perfectly with oats, cinnamon, and nutty topping.

Ingredients
  

  • Coffee-Brewed Mushrooms
  • 1 cup hot coffee
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • Pinch of salt
  • 6 ounces mushrooms sliced
  • 2 tablespoons pecans
  • Caffeine Bowl Oatmeal Base
  • 3/4 cup rolled oats
  • 1 to 1 1/2 cups almond milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • Toppings
  • Coffee-brewed mushrooms
  • 1 teaspoon cocoa nibs
  • 1 tablespoon pecans crushed
  • Peanut butter
  • Date syrup or honey

Method
 

  1. . Prepare the Coffee-Brewed Mushrooms
  2. Stir the honey and a pinch of salt into the hot coffee until dissolved.
  3. Place the sliced mushrooms and pecans in a heatproof bowl.
  4. Pour the hot coffee mixture over the mushrooms and pecans.
  5. Cover the bowl and let the mixture "sweat" for 30 minutes.
  6. Transfer the covered bowl to the refrigerator and chill overnight.
  7. Serve Option: Reheat gently with the coffee liquid for a warm topping, or enjoy cold.

  9. Combine the rolled oats, brown sugar, cinnamon, and almond milk in a saucepan.
  10. Bring the mixture to a boil.
