Chorizo Stuffed Figs in a Blanket

Sweet figs get stuffed with rich, spiced chorizo, wrapped in flaky crescent dough, and finished with a light honey glaze that caramelizes in the oven. It’s an easy, crowd-pleasing bite that feels elevated but comes together fast
Servings: 8

Ingredients

  • 8 fresh figs
  • 1 package 8-count crescent rolls
  • 1/2 cup ground chorizo
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon water

Method

  1. Preheat and Prep: Preheat your oven to 350°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Lay the crescent roll dough out on a clean surface.
  2. Stuff the Figs: Remove the stems from the figs. Carefully slice each fig about halfway through, from the top down, without cutting all the way to the bottom. Roll the chorizo into small, teaspoon-sized balls. Gently stuff one chorizo ball inside the sliced opening of each fig.
  3. Wrap and Seal: Wrap each stuffed fig completely with one piece of crescent dough, gently pinching the edges of the dough to seal the fig inside.
  4. Prepare Glaze: In a small bowl, whisk together the honey and water until combined.
  5. Glaze and Bake: Brush the honey-water mixture evenly over the surface of each wrapped fig. Place the glazed figs on the prepared baking sheet.
  6. Cook and Serve: Bake for 8–12 minutes, or until the dough is golden brown. Remove from the oven and allow them to cool slightly before serving.
