Chocolate Oat Bark

This chocolate oat bark elevates a simple oat streusel into crispy, chocolate-rich clusters perfect for snacking or topping yogurt. Rich cocoa powder combined with melty chocolate chips provides deep chocolate flavor, while a whole stick of butter gives every bite an irresistible, brownie-batter taste.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup ground oats
  • 1/4 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 ounces unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 stick butter melted
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 ounce chocolate chips

Method
 

  1. Preheat the oven to 300 degrees F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a food processor, combine the oats, white sugar, brown sugar, cocoa powder, and salt.
  3. Pour in the melted butter and vanilla extract. Pulse until the dry ingredients are evenly coated.
  4. Pulse in the chocolate chips.
  5. Spread the mixture onto the prepared baking sheet in an even layer.
  6. Bake for 20- 30 minutes, until fragrant and lightly crisp around the edges.
  7. Allow the mixture to cool completely on the baking sheet.
  8. Break into rustic bark pieces or crunchy clusters.
  9. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week.
