Baked Peanut Butter Oats & Whipped Banana Cream Cheese Frosting

Warm, soft baked peanut butter oats topped with cool, whipped banana cream cheese frosting.

Featured Standouts

Peanut Butter

Provides richness, protein, and that classic, savory-sweet flavor contrast. Opt for a natural variety for the best texture and taste in the baked oats.

Cream Cheese

Forms the base of the whipped frosting, offering a tangy counterpoint to the sweetness of the banana and powdered sugar. Ensure it is softened for optimal whipping.

Oats

Rolled oats are the essential structural component, giving the dish its satisfyingly dense yet tender texture when baked.

Banana

Crucial for both the baked oats (often used as a binder and natural sweetener) and the distinctive, fruity flavor of the frosting.

TIPS & TRICKS FOR THE BEST BAKED PEANUT BUTTER OATS & WHIPPED BANANA CREAM CHEESE FROSTING

Sweetness is Key

The most critical factor for the banana flavor is ripeness. For the best, most intense banana flavor and natural sweetness, use a very ripe banana—one with a significant amount of brown spots. This natural sweetness reduces the need for excessive added sugar.

Easier Whipping

While it is possible to whip the frosting by hand, a stand mixer or a handheld electric mixer is highly recommended. The motorized action significantly simplifies and speeds up the process of achieving a truly light, fluffy, and voluminous “whipped” texture for the cream cheese and banana mixture.

Inclusive Adaptations

Gluten-Free Option

To make this dish suitable for those with celiac disease or gluten sensitivities, simply ensure you use certified gluten-free oats. The rest of the recipe naturally remains gluten-free.
