Chicken wings are so simple we have them at least once a week. That means I have to keep the recipes new and interesting.  So we don’t get bored. Chicken wings are so easy to make that you really can go all out for a sauce but sometimes you don’t need to.

For this recipe, I kept it incredibly simple with just good ole salt and pepper. I used the infused garlic butter to give the salt and pepper something to stick to , These chicken wings are twice air fried and even better than deep-fried wings. The lack of cooking oil totally makes this guilt-free!

TIPS & TRICKS FOR THE BEST SALT AND PEPPER CHICKEN WINGS

double cook the wings: if you’re making this chicken in large batches. feel free to do the first cook in the oven to conserve space and save time. since you need the high-temperature cooking is done in the second phase.

work in batches: don’t overfill the basket whether your air frying or deep frying make sure everything has enough space to cook. when you make them in the oven make sure they are in an even layer on a baking rake to separate the fat from the chicken.

don’t overcook the chicken the first time. it can be hard to keep together. if you find yourself overcooking the chicken in the first round. go ahead and leave them on the pan and let them cool before you transfer them into the air fryer.

course s & p: since salt and pepper are the main things here. make sure it shows. use a course of ground peppercorn and a flaked sea salt to help add a pop of flavor in each bite

fry the garlic: the garlic needs to be infused into the butter. so add it in when the pan is heating with the garlic. move it continuously into around the pan to brown. reduce the heat once it’s brown so it can it in the butter

butter: use the good butter for this recipe. like a whipped or golden. it changes everything.

INGREDIENTS

  • 4lb Chicken Wings, segmented
  • 10 Garlic Cloves, sliced
  • 6Tb Butter
  • 2 Lime, juiced + zest
  • Salt
  • Black Pepper
  • Garlic Powder
  • Onion Powder

INSTRUCTIONS

  • Season the wings generously with salt, pepper. garlic and onion powder.
  • Working in batches bake at 300F for 10 in the air fry.
  • Once all the chicken is cooked. Add the chicken back to the airfryer. Place on 400 and air fry for 20 minutes. Tossing at least once to make sure all sides are browned.
  • Make the butter by placing garlic in with the butter and slowly heating it up.
  • Once browned remove from the heat add a pinch of salt and let the garlic steep.
  • Toss over the wings. Add on a generous amount of salt and pepper, lemon zest, and juice.
  • Serve
