Pancake mix can be either store bought or homemade. All pancakes mixes are pretty much the same; flour, baking powder, salt and sugar. The simple mix is great to make ahead and have on hand. Store bought mix is even easier just follow the directions to make the perfect pancake.
Oftentimes when using store bought pancake mix it’s written ” just add water” it’s suggested to just add water since the pancake mixes contain milk powder in the flour. If your using homemade mix make sure you’re mixing with milk not water. if you want a fuller and tastier pancake when using boxed mix skip the water and opt for milk instead
Vanilla is caramelly and sugary it enhances all the bourbon and sweet notes of the cappuccino powder. It’s an enhancer and flavor booster. Always include vanilla.
Bourbon is an easy addition to pancakes since its as easy as opening up a bottle and pouring, similarly to adding vanilla. In addition to being easy to add it adds a ton of flavor that backs up the vanilla.
Butter is a must in pancakes. A combination of butter and oil leaves the pancakes with a fried outside and a fluffy and caky inside. Butter is also used to whip the cappuccino butter to be smear over the warm pancakes.
Cappuccino powder is an all in one ” just add milk” kind of drink. It is a cappuccino in powder form it generally includes : espresso powder, milk solids, vanilla powder, etc once added to warm milk it forms a coffee beverage that easy to make at home.
make the pancakes how you normally would just add the additional vanilla and bourbon. make this recipe super simple by using your favorite pancake mix, favorite vanilla and even bourbon.
cappuccino butter is basically powdered cappuccino, its as sweet coffee powder with notes a cream and vanilla. simply add it to the softened butter. melted butter will activate and thicken the powder into an unappetizing paste. cold butter will be a nightmare to mix.
pancakes are really easy once you get the hang of them. to get a golden brown crust its best to use a 2:1 ratio butter to oil to cook the pancakes in. once the edges start to crisp and the pancakes start to bubble its time to flip.
serve these pancakes warm, topped with softened cappuccino butter and a drizzle of maple syrup. alternatively you can serve the pancakes with the butter, powdered sugar and some fresh fruit.
