Classic Rice Pudding

A classic rice pudding is made with evaporated milk, brown sugar, and raisins.

FEATURED STANDOUTS

Rice

The rice is the foundation of the pudding. It transforms into a delightfully starchy, soft, and slightly nutty base. This provides a comforting and familiar texture that soaks up the other flavors beautifully.

Evaporated Milk

This ingredient is key to the pudding’s luxurious mouthfeel. It imparts a creamy and rich depth. There is also a subtly caramelized flavor that elevates the dish beyond a simple dessert.

Vanilla

A classic complement, vanilla infuses the pudding with a sweet, floral, and intensely aromatic quality, enhancing the overall sensory experience.

Raisins

These small but mighty additions contribute a chewy texture. They provide bursts of concentrated sweetness. These qualities offer a delightful counterpoint to the creamy pudding.

Brown Sugar

Brown sugar provides more than just sweetness. It introduces a deep, molasses-like complexity. This adds warmth and richness to the pudding’s flavor profile.

TIPS & TRICKS FOR THE BEST CLASSIC RICE PUDDING

Stirring for Perfection

To achieve the ideal creamy consistency, it’s crucial to stir constantly during the last 10 minutes of cooking. This prevents the rice from sticking to the bottom of the pot. This ensures even cooking and a smooth texture.

Serving Suggestions

For the best enjoyment, serve the rice pudding chilled. A final flourish of a sprinkle of cinnamon or nutmeg adds an appealing aroma. It also enhances the overall flavor experience.

Flavor Variations

Don’t be afraid to experiment! Mango offers a wonderful tropical note. You can easily swap it for other fruits, like juicy pineapple. Alternatively, use a mix of colorful berries to create delightful new variations. This way, you can cater to different preferences.
