Featured Standouts

Roasted Peanuts

Roasted peanuts are the heart of this recipe, creating a rich, nutty flavor and naturally creamy texture when blended. Their deep roasted aroma gives the spread a fresh homemade taste that is far more flavorful than store bought peanut butter. They also provide protein and healthy fats that make the spread satisfying and versatile.

Ground Oats

Ground oats form the base of the streusel and create a tender, crumbly texture that bakes into crisp golden clusters. They add a warm toasted flavor and subtle sweetness that pairs beautifully with the peanut butter. The oats also help the clusters hold together while adding a bakery style crunch throughout the spread.

Brown Sugar

Brown sugar brings rich caramel notes and a hint of molasses that makes the streusel taste buttery and deeply flavorful. As it bakes, it helps create crunchy clusters with a beautiful golden brown color and a slightly chewy center. This ingredient gives the spread its dessert inspired character without overpowering the peanut flavor.

Vanilla

Vanilla adds warmth and depth to the peanut butter. It softens the roasted peanut flavor and ties together the sweet and salty elements for a balanced finish. A generous tablespoon gives the clusters a fragrant bakery style aroma.

TIPS & TRICKS FOR THE BEST PEANUT BUTTER STREUSEL CRUNCH

Blend Until Ultra Smooth

Process the roasted peanuts for several minutes until they become completely creamy before adding the olive oil. This creates a silky peanut butter base that contrasts beautifully with the crunchy streusel clusters.

Cool the Streusel Completely

Allow the streusel to cool fully on the baking sheet before breaking it into clusters. This helps the clusters become crisp and prevents them from softening when mixed into the peanut butter.

Keep Some Large Clusters

Instead of crushing all of the streusel into fine crumbs, leave a variety of cluster sizes. Larger pieces create the most satisfying crunchy bites and give the spread a premium artisan texture.

Adjust the Consistency

If the peanut butter is too thick, add olive oil one tablespoon at a time until it reaches your preferred spreadable consistency. The texture should be creamy enough to spread easily while still holding the streusel clusters.

Store for Maximum Freshness

Store the finished spread in an airtight glass jar. If natural oil separation occurs, simply stir before serving. For the crunchiest texture, enjoy within the first week.

Inclusive adaptions

For Reduced Hand Strength

Use a high powered food processor or blender to make the peanut butter and purchase pre roasted peanuts to eliminate extra preparation.

For Gluten Sensitivities

Use certified gluten free oats to ensure the streusel remains gluten free.

For Lower Sugar Needs

Replace part of the brown and white sugar with a granulated sugar substitute that measures like sugar while maintaining the crunchy streusel texture.
